i took up tourism in college and the funny thing is that people automatically think that i’d be a flight attendant when i graduate. BIG mistake because i have other plans for my future. it’s not that i don’t like the job. it’s just not for me.

your questionnaire has certain confidential information (thus nobody is really answering it) so i suggest you e-mail those that you want to contact. also, please note that not everybody here in YAP (yahoo answers philippines) is into the tourism / travel industry.

i have a lot of friends who work in the airline industry. some work in local airlines (like cebu pacific, asian spirit, PAL etc) and i have friends too who work in airlines such as korean air, qantas, northwest and qatar airways. my friends in the US work in delta, us airlines and american airlines.

i chose to work in the hotel industry. it suits me more, is why.

It would probably be best to go and see your teacher for extra help.
      2. An easy way to subtract fractions is to turn them into improper fractions (whole number multiplied by denominator. then plus numerator)
      3. To add fractions, find the least common denominator, change the fractions and then add.
      11. A reciprocal is when you flip the number, so ex. 3/4′s reciprocal would be 4/3 or 1 1/3. the reciprocal of 3 (3/1) would be 1/3.

I would highly recommend going to your teacher for help.

Need help putting together a vacation.?
Just like lil’ Bush wants us all to do we have decided to spend our economic stimulus money on a vacation. Since this will probably be the last time in the next five years my family will get to do a big vacation I want to make it special. What I need from the Yahoo community is
    1. Destination Ideas.
    2. This is most important. Tips on how to cut costs for the trip. I’m using Travelocity, Expedia, Orbitz, ect. to try for package deals and a trip to Niagara Falls (for example) is comming in at about $1700. I need any knowledge that can help.
    3. Travel Tips
We have 2 adults and three kids. I think that booking flights on Tuesday is cheapest isn’t it? I think that staying a few miles outside of your destination can lower the costs of hotel rooms can’t it?
    I NEED HELP

    • yummy mummy says:

Huni I find that the internet is far too huge to book a holiday unless you know what you want.
I just go into the travel agents and tell them what you want and they are able to tell you exactly what you need to know about the country, you can tell them you want somewhere hot and what you want to do there etc and they will advise you where to go and show you pictures. It doesnt take up no where near as much time.
My parents were looking to go to Zante last week and it was coming up at £700 each so they went in to the agents and they got a 5* hotel for £250 each.

Which careers fit my interests and what I want to do?
I’m a senior in high school and I’m having a hard time figuring out what career or major I want to pursue. The thing is, I can envision some of the things I want to do and I know what my strengths are. I just don’t know how these can be applied to a career. PLEASE help!

    1. I’ve always been told that I’m an excellent writer, so I feel I should do something that capitalizes on that. To be clear, I enjoy writing most when I have a lot of room as to how I want to express myself, when I can be descriptive, when I can elaborate or digress as I choose. Strict, straight-news journalistic writing about current events doesn’t suit me. I can do it, but I don’t exactly enjoy it. I’m more inspired by things with a certain romance or charm to them.

    2. I really enjoy photography.

    3. I would love to be someone who researches an issue in depth (I love the research process, looking at old documents, interviewing, etc), and writes a book about it that is not only informative, but draws upon creative writing as well. Who does this, how can I do this?

    3. I also see myself traveling to a destination, photographing it and writing about it. I know about graphic design so I would love to write, photograph, and design a “travel coffee-table book” or something.

    4. I’m very inspired by what I can gather through the five senses, so I would want a career that stimulates them.

    5. I’m interested in cultures, in history/the past, in genealogy, in capturing some beauty that others wouldn’t see.

I also want something with a stable pay, that I know I can earn a living doing. I would preferably like something that allows for a family life.

What majors and careers suit me? Thanks!
